This is one of Lightfoots more obscure songs from his Sundown album. This one is just me and my OM Martin.
I had fun with this Jimmy Cliff reggae song from the 60's. I admit I had fun working out some midi drum parts that I think work really well. I hope you do to.
You're sure about her but you're not sure if she is sure about you. This tune has been covered by the likes of Herb Pederson and Clair Lynch and is one of my favorite Lightfoot tunes. It has a nice drive to it and builds as it goes with bass, harmony vocals and lap steel.
This tune originally goes back to 1959 by a guy called Tarheel Slim. I love that bluesy rock from that time period. This one has some horsepower so be ready to move.
Here are tunes I've put together with some help from my friends. Jack Kline on mandolin, harmonica and lap-steel, Rod Linn on bass, Mark Petrella on bass and Maria Murillo on fiddle. Several of the tunes are just me and my guitar but I'm sure you'll enjoy these folksy country songs.
"Now and Then" is a collection of tunes I found from times past and current that fit. They seem to cast a melancholy mood, but one that's relaxing, thoughtful and for me a bit personal. These are folk songs that also may fit the country genre and touch on blues and possibly new age. Give it a listen; I think you might get one of these tunes in your head that you can't forget.
