From the recording Old Steam Locamotive

Lyrics

Ol’ Steam Locomotive M. Stenberg

There’s an Ol’ Steam Locomotive that’s now a monument
To the railroad men of yesteryear their hard works long been spent
In the park the engine sits idle behind a chain link fence.
To two short rails it’s welded for all to catch a glimpse.
Of when the railroads were mighty when our dreams rode on the rail
In boxcars, sleepers and coaches, we rode the iron trail.
Into a new frontier, adventure around each bend,
Where bison, outlaws and Indians challenged our iron friend

All hail the seam locomotive, and the men who did her proud
For makin such a contraption work and make such a sound
To hear the whistle blowin as she thundered down the track
There won’t be another invention quite like the Klickity Klack
There’s an Ol’ Steam Locomotive that’s now a monument
Of coal black steel and rusting wheels her glory we wont forget
